PHNOM PENH (The Cambodia Herald) – Banteay Meanchey Provincial Court has detained a lawyer on charges of corruption and document forgery, Rasmei Kampuchea reported Sunday.
Ti Pov, member of Bar Association of Cambodia, was detained in Banteay Meanchey prison on Friday after he was sent to the provincial court by Anti-Corruption Unit.
Pov, who also works for British-owned IGE, was accused of falsifying public land document in Svay Chek district north of Banteay Meanchey province.
The court also detained Ouk Keoratanak, former administration deputy chief of Banteay Meanchey Provincial Hall last Thursday on the same charge.
